As of September 5, 2024, LCBO will be enforcing its Return Policy and discontinuing our standard practice of accepting returns without a receipt for refunds and exchanges.
Why are we doing this?
For the Good of Ontario. With an expanding beverage alcohol marketplace comes additional risk for fraudulent returns. To ensure that we are protecting LCBO revenues and the quality and safety of returned products, we need to verify that all product returns were originally purchased from an LCBO store.
To align with standard retail practices. Our policy has always been to require a valid receipt for any returns within 30 days of purchase. We are adjusting our practices to align with our policy.

Unopened Products.
· A receipt is required for all returns/exchanges (within 30 days of purchase)
Product Quality Complaints
· A receipt is required for refund (within 30 days of purchase)
· Product quality returns with valid receipt beyond 30 days or no receipt, will be exchange only (no refund)
Product Recalls
Returns for products subject to a product recall with public notice will continue to be refunded with or without a receipt.
