As announced by the provincial government, in January 2026, LCBO will be the exclusive wholesaler for all retail, bars and restaurants selling alcohol.
Wholesale customers will purchase through LCBO or through an authorized distributor who facilitate sales on LCBO's behalf (e.g. domestic producers /The Beer Store).
As a result of these changes, the following actions are required:
All domestic brewers that have beer that is available to LCBO Convenience Outlets (LCOs), but it is not listed on wholesale.lcbo.com, you must be a listed on wholesale.lcbo.com or authorized under the Direct Delivery Program.
All domestic brewers that currently sell directly to bars & restaurants must be authorized under the Direct Delivery Program, sold through the Beer Store who is an authorized distributor and facilitates sales on LCBO's behalf, or be listed on wholesale.lcbo.com.
Next steps
- We will be reaching out to suppliers with beer products currently available to southern LCOs to complete a packaged beer form by each product by November 14.
- If you would like your product listed on wholeale.lcbo.com, please contact lco@lcbo.com for more information
Other listing-related changes
In addition to wholesale pricing changes, LCBO is taking additional steps to enhance our wholesale business. This includes supporting our wholesale customers and suppliers to bring new products to market faster and introducing an open listing process for domestic and imported products by July 1, 2026. We will also open access to products that are currently only available in LCBO retail (with the exception of spirits). In addition, LCBO is exploring changes in distribution to enable private retailers to work with alternative distributors to have their products delivered.
More information on these initiatives will be shared in the coming months.
